The Torn Page
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28 KJV

Leo's favorite picture tore while he was putting it into a folder. He cried because he could not make it look exactly the same again.
His mother sat beside him. She did not say the tear was good. She helped him mend it and reminded him that God still cared about him on a sad afternoon.
Romans 8 teaches that God is at work for the good of His people. It does not mean every hurt feels good or that we always know why it happened. We can trust Him and tell Him when we are sad.
You do not have to hide your tears before asking for help.
For the grown-up reading along
The promise is addressed to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Verse 29 connects that purpose with conformity to Christ. The passage does not call every event good or promise immediate comfort.
