Fairness When You Could Benefit
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah 6:8 KJV
It is easy to ask for fairness when you have received less. The harder test comes when an unfair arrangement benefits you. Micah 6:8 calls God's people to do justly even when selfishness would be convenient.
Give an honest account of what happened. Share credit with the people who worked. Do not use another person's weakness to get your own way. Mercy also matters, because people need more than cold calculations of what they deserve.
These choices do not buy salvation. They show the seriousness of walking under God's authority. Humility stops asking only what you can get away with and begins attending to what is right before Him.
Keep the passage in context
Micah addresses God's covenant people and contrasts impressive offerings with the obedience He requires. Justice, mercy, and humility cannot be replaced by religious display. These qualities are not a way to earn salvation.
