Notice the Help along the Way
Written for Bible Journey Plan. Our editorial standards.
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master’s brethren.
Genesis 24:27 KJV
A difficult undertaking can occupy our attention so completely that we notice only the remaining problems. Useful help arrives, a needed conversation takes place, or an obstacle becomes manageable, and we move immediately to the next concern.
The servant in Genesis pauses to acknowledge the Lord's faithfulness. His task is not yet fully concluded, but he has already seen reason for gratitude.
Practice that attention together. Name the real help you have received through people, provision, and opportunities to act wisely. Keep the account honest without treating every convenient detail as a private sign guaranteeing your preferred outcome.
Gratitude can strengthen a marriage in the middle of unfinished work. It reminds both people that the story contains more than pressure. Thank those who have helped and consider how your household might serve someone else in time. The Lord's mercy deserves acknowledgment before every problem has disappeared. A grateful pause does not stop responsible planning. It gives planning a more truthful setting by remembering the care already received along the road.
Keep the passage in context
