Wisdom before a Quick Answer

Some decisions arrive when both people are already tired. We want the uncertainty to end, so the first workable idea can feel like the only idea. A little time for wisdom may prevent a great deal of repair later.

James tells believers in trials to ask God for wisdom. The Lord is generous toward those who need His guidance. That wisdom agrees with His word and helps us respond faithfully, even when He has not explained the whole situation.

Bring the decision before Him together. Gather the facts, listen to sound counsel, and be honest about what you still do not know. Neither spouse needs to win a contest for the quickest answer. It is better to say that more information is needed than to speak with confidence you do not have. God has not asked you to predict every outcome. He calls you to seek His wisdom and take the clearest faithful step available.
