Thirty Years Old

And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

Scripture Review
Joseph is thirty years old when he stands before Pharaoh and goes throughout Egypt. He was seventeen when the story opened. Thirteen years have passed through the pit, slavery, false accusation, prison, and delay. The years of plenty now arrive, and the earth brings forth by handfuls. Joseph gathers food in every city until the corn is without number.
The dream was not dormant during those thirteen years. God was preparing both the man and the moment. Joseph’s first public assignment is not celebration; it is work. He has seven years to turn abundant harvests into organized provision. The throne gives him reach, but faithfulness still looks like daily stewardship. A long wait does not make the next season easy; it makes readiness more important.
Egypt meant to use Joseph’s administrative ability to gather and protect a surplus before the predicted famine.
God meant to give abundance before scarcity and employ the thirty-year-old servant He had prepared through thirteen hidden years.
What this asks of me
I should not waste a season of opportunity because I spent so long waiting for it. Answered prayer may arrive carrying work, deadlines, and responsibility. The same God who sustained me in delay can strengthen me in abundance. I need discipline when the fields are full, not only faith when the cupboards are empty.

- Am I prepared to work faithfully when the opportunity I prayed for arrives?
- What abundance should I be stewarding now for a future need?
