The Shortcut During the Wait
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psalm 37:7 KJV
A delay can make a bad shortcut look reasonable. Someone else cheats and moves ahead. You continue doing the work honestly and wonder whether faithfulness is costing too much.
Psalm 37 speaks directly to the frustration of watching wrongdoing appear to succeed. David does not tell you to copy it. He calls you to rest in the LORD and wait patiently, keeping your response under God's authority.
Patient trust includes continuing useful work. Learn what you can, follow appropriate channels, and ask for sound advice. Do not confuse waiting with drifting. At the same time, refuse the resentment that makes another person's progress the center of your life. God has not asked you to become dishonest in order to prove that obedience works.
Keep the passage in context
David counsels trust and patient waiting when evildoers appear to prosper. Resting in the LORD is not approval of wrongdoing. It keeps resentment and comparison from governing the faithful person's response.
