Treat Today as Something Entrusted to You

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalm 90:12 KJV
Being young can make time feel almost unlimited. There will always be another chance to learn the skill, mend the friendship, or take the responsibility seriously. Scripture teaches us to receive our days as a gift rather than assume an endless supply.
Numbering our days does not mean living in fear of tomorrow. It means recognizing that time has value because our lives are finite and God has given us meaningful responsibilities within them.
Use today with ordinary wisdom. Complete the work that belongs to you. Be present with the people around you. Make room for rest and healthy enjoyment without letting distraction consume every unclaimed moment. A wise life includes balance, not constant hurry.
You do not need a detailed plan for every year ahead before taking one faithful step now. Learn from Scripture, receive counsel, and practice the habits that will serve you well later. When you waste time, admit it and begin again rather than spending another hour regretting the first one. The aim is a heart taught by God to value life rightly and use its days with grateful purpose.
Keep the passage in context
