A Different Way Home

The usual path home was closed for repairs. Molly wanted to go around the sign because she knew that way best. Her dad showed her the safe turning farther along.
The new route took longer, but they found a little pond beside it. Molly still wished the old path were open. She could follow a wise direction without liking every change.
We make plans, but we do not control everything. Proverbs reminds us that the LORD directs our steps. His Word helps us know what is right when plans change.
Listen to good guidance instead of choosing a wrong way just because it is familiar.
For the grown-up reading along
The proverb places human planning beneath the LORD's direction. It encourages humility about our control. It does not teach that every personal desire or unexpected event is a direct instruction from God.
