There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The teacher's answer sheet lay open on the desk. Jack had forgotten to study one part of the lesson. He could see the first answer from where he stood.
Jack looked toward his own chair and walked back to it. Later, he told the teacher he needed help with the part he did not understand. His score was not perfect, but it was honest.
God does not tell His people that they must give in when they are tempted. The Bible points us to His faithfulness and a way to do right. Jack did not have to stay beside the answer sheet while arguing with himself. Moving away helped him obey. When we are tempted, we can listen to God's word, ask for help, and take the honest path He makes clear.
A small step for today
When you feel pulled toward a wrong choice, stop and ask for help. You can leave the place, put the item down, or tell a trusted grown-up. God is faithful, and His word teaches us to resist sin. A tempting thought does not have to become an action. Look for the right step that is available now.
For the grown-up reading along
Paul warns believers against the sins illustrated in Israel's history. God's faithfulness in temptation calls for watchfulness and obedience, not confidence in our own strength or a promise that suffering will feel manageable alone.
