Leo opened a model kit and poured the pieces onto the table. He joined the largest pieces first, then discovered that a small part should have gone inside. He pulled at the plastic until Dad asked him to stop.
They opened the instructions together. Leo had wanted to build without asking for help, but the page showed a better order. Dad helped him take one piece off carefully and begin again.
James tells believers to ask God for wisdom. Life is more important than a model kit, and we do not always know the right way to respond. God gives wisdom through His word, and trustworthy people can help us understand it. Leo could learn that asking for help was a wise beginning, not something to save until every piece was stuck.
A small step for today
Sometimes you do not know the wisest thing to do. God invites His people to ask Him for wisdom. Read His word and listen to a trustworthy grown-up who can help you understand. You do not have to pretend you know every answer. Being willing to learn is a good beginning when a choice feels difficult.
For the grown-up reading along
James speaks to believers facing trials and calls them to ask God for wisdom. Wisdom helps them respond faithfully; the verse does not promise secret knowledge of every future event.
