Peace That Begins with Christ

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:1 KJV
A quiet afternoon and peace with God are different things. You may feel relaxed while still needing salvation, or feel troubled while truly belonging to Christ. Romans 5 directs our confidence toward what God has done through His Son.
To be justified is to be declared righteous before God. We do not reach that standing by making our good actions outweigh our sins. Jesus died for sinners and rose again. We are justified by faith, with Christ as the reason for acceptance rather than our own record.
That truth gives a believer a stronger foundation than the changing mood of a day. When you fail, be honest about the sin and turn from it. Do not begin inventing a new payment system as though the Saviour's work were insufficient.
Learn the gospel clearly and keep its order in mind. Peace with God comes through Jesus Christ. Obedience grows from belonging to Him; it does not purchase the relationship. A troubled feeling should lead you toward Scripture's truth and wise help, not away from the Lord who has provided the only sufficient Saviour.
Keep the passage in context
Paul teaches that justification by faith brings peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. This peace concerns our standing before God, not simply a pleasant feeling.
