Small beneath a Wide Sky

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psalm 8:3-4 KJV
Looking at a clear night sky can make your own life seem very small. There are places you have never visited and distances you cannot imagine. David noticed the heavens too, but his wonder did not end with feeling unimportant. He marveled that the God who made such greatness was mindful of man.
Your life matters because of the Creator, not because you can make the world look toward you. The Lord knows a child in a quiet room as surely as He knows the stars beyond the window. Popularity cannot add to His knowledge of you, and being overlooked by others cannot hide you from Him.
Receive that care with humility. You are not the center of creation, but you are not outside its Maker's attention. Use the day He gives you faithfully. Listen to His Word, treat people with respect, and thank Him for life. The wide sky offers a good reason to look upward with worship and then return to ordinary responsibilities knowing that the Lord sees those too.
Keep the passage in context
David considers the heavens God made and marvels at His attention to mankind. The greatness of creation leads to worship rather than the conclusion that people are forgotten.
