Small Service Can Be Steady Service

A useful job can feel less exciting the twentieth time you do it. Carrying chairs, helping a younger reader, or setting out supplies may not bring a new compliment each week. That does not mean the work has stopped mattering.

Paul tells believers to remain steadfast in the Lord's work. He says this after explaining the resurrection. Because Christ has risen and His people will be raised, their service is not swallowed up by death or forgotten by God.

Do the next assigned task carefully. If a problem needs to be addressed, speak honestly rather than becoming resentful in silence. Accept thanks graciously, but do not make praise the only reason to continue. Faithful work often becomes part of the support other people rely on. Something can be ordinary, repeated, and deeply useful at the same time.
