The Cancelled Match

The match was cancelled after heavy rain. Aiden had practiced all week, and he felt that the work had been wasted. His coach explained that the training still mattered, even though they could not play that afternoon.
Aiden helped put the equipment away. He could be disappointed without taking it out on everyone nearby.
Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that our plans are not the final authority over life. Planning is useful, but control belongs to God. A changed day is not permission to become unkind or careless.
Use the responsibility still in front of you. Faithfulness does not have to wait until the schedule returns to the one you wanted.
Keep the passage in context
The proverb places human planning beneath the LORD's direction. It encourages humility about our control. It does not teach that every personal desire or unexpected event is a direct instruction from God.
