Every morning, Ruby filled the bird feeder with her dad. One week she complained that the job was always the same. Then she noticed how quickly the birds returned when the feeder had food.
Repeating a useful task did not make it useless. The ordinary rhythm was part of caring for something beyond herself.
Genesis 8:22 records God's promise about the continuing seasons of the earth. His dependable order is a mercy we can easily overlook because it is familiar.
Give thanks for an ordinary rhythm today. Carry your own repeated responsibility faithfully, whether it is caring for a pet, helping with a meal, or preparing for school.
