Faithfulness in Ordinary Seasons

Much of married life is made of repeated work. Meals, laundry, appointments, and conversations return. We may begin longing for something important while overlooking the faithfulness required by the ordinary season already here.

After the flood, God speaks of continuing rhythms: seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night. The promise concerns His preservation of the earth. It reminds us that dependable order is a mercy, even when it is familiar.

A household also benefits from reasonable rhythms. Shared meals, honest check-ins, work, rest, and time in Scripture can help a family live attentively. No schedule can guarantee an easy life, and changing circumstances may require adjustment.

Strengthen one simple rhythm that serves your marriage. Keep it modest enough to continue without resentment. Do not confuse routine with emptiness. The repeated act of care may become the very thing your spouse depends on when another part of life becomes uncertain. Faithfulness often returns tomorrow to do useful work again.
