Following the Same Shepherd

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:1-3 KJV
A husband and wife can both be busy doing useful things while slowly moving in different directions. The calendar fills, the conversation narrows to arrangements, and neither person has asked what is shaping the pace.
David describes the Lord as his shepherd. He restores the soul and leads in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. His care includes direction, not just relief from fatigue. We need to receive both.
Make room to consider whether your shared habits agree with His word. Some responsibilities are necessary; some have been added because saying no felt uncomfortable. Let Scripture help you examine them honestly. Rest is a gift to receive with gratitude, and obedience is a path to follow together. The Shepherd does not promise that every season will be quiet. He does remain faithful in the busy season, the difficult season, and the season when the two of you need to slow down enough to hear Him clearly.
Keep the passage in context
David speaks of the LORD as his shepherd, who provides, restores, and leads in righteousness for His name's sake. The rest of the psalm includes danger, so this is not a promise of uninterrupted ease.
