Give the Decision a Night to Settle

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
Proverbs 19:2 KJV
A deadline can make a purchase or commitment feel more urgent than it really is. The offer ends tonight, someone else is interested, or a persuasive person insists that hesitation means missing the opportunity.
Slow down enough to understand the decision. Read the details, compare the cost, and discuss the effect on shared responsibilities. If there is time to wait, a night's rest can help separate genuine need from the excitement of being offered something.
Respect your spouse's request for more information. Caution is not automatically a lack of faith, and enthusiasm is not automatically evidence of wisdom. Both people may see something the other has missed.
Some decisions truly are urgent. Prepare for those by establishing sound habits in the ones that are not. The Lord has given us minds, counsel, and Scripture to guide responsible choices. We should use them without allowing pressure to make the decision for us. A good opportunity can bear honest examination. A poor one often depends upon keeping you too hurried to notice what you are agreeing to carry.
Keep the passage in context
The proverb warns against zeal without knowledge and haste that leads to wrongdoing. A strong desire does not remove the need for understanding.
