Count the Blessing without Comparing the Price

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psalm 103:2 KJV
Comparison can make a useful home feel inadequate within minutes. Someone else's renovation, holiday, or new vehicle becomes the standard, and ordinary blessings lose their shine beside a carefully selected picture.
Practice remembering what is actually present. A safe place to rest, faithful help, an answered need, or the kindness of friends deserves attention. Gratitude becomes more substantial when it names real gifts rather than repeating a general sentence.
Talk together about provision you have received and people the Lord has used to help you. Let remembrance encourage generosity toward others instead of pride about what you possess. Every household carries needs that a photograph cannot display.
Gratitude does not forbid responsible improvement or honest grief over what is missing. It helps keep desire from erasing the good already given. Christ's salvation is the greatest gift, and earthly circumstances cannot measure its worth. A thankful marriage has room to plan for tomorrow while still enjoying today's provision. The blessing does not become smaller because someone else paid more for something similar.
Keep the passage in context
David calls his soul to bless the LORD and remember His benefits. Gratitude begins with attentive remembrance of God's goodness.
