Helping Each Other Keep Showing Up

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

It is easy for worship and fellowship to become the part of the calendar that moves first. We intend to gather, but a full week keeps finding reasons why this Sunday should be different.
Hebrews calls believers to hold fast and consider how to encourage one another toward love and good works. Gathering is part of that care. We need the truth, encouragement, and correction that come through a faithful church.
A couple can prepare for this together. Arrange what can be arranged beforehand. Share the practical work instead of leaving one person to get everybody ready. When illness, disability, or another serious obstacle prevents attendance, seek ways to remain connected and receive pastoral care. The purpose is not to protect an impressive record. It is to help one another continue in faith. Your presence can encourage someone whose difficult week is not visible, and their faithfulness may strengthen you in ways you did not know you needed.
