Looking in the Right Direction for Help

When pressure rises, we often begin with the resource nearest at hand. We look at the savings, the calendar, or the people who might know what to do. Those resources can be useful, but they cannot become our final refuge.

The psalmist identifies his help as coming from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. God's power is greater than the problem, and His wisdom is greater than our ability to arrange the answer.

A couple can acknowledge that dependence without neglecting practical action. Seek sound counsel, use available help, and carry out the duties that are clear. Receive those provisions with gratitude to the Lord who gives good gifts. You may not know how the difficulty will end, and faith does not require inventing a guarantee. It calls you to trust the faithful Creator while taking the next responsible step together. The two of you are not the largest source of strength available to your marriage.
