Tend the Peace You Already Have

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Psalm 133:1 KJV
Peace can become so familiar that we stop caring for the habits that support it. Clear communication, ordinary courtesy, and a willingness to apologize are easy to neglect when no major conflict is visible.
Value the good already present in your marriage. Notice dependable kindness and the ways you have learned to work together. Gratitude gives you a reason to keep tending those habits rather than assume they will maintain themselves.
Unity does not mean silence about every concern. A peaceful relationship has room for truth because both people intend to handle it with care. Small matters addressed patiently are less likely to gather into a larger resentment.
The psalm's setting concerns the people of God together, and its appreciation of unity can teach us to value peace close to home. Let a quiet season become a time for continued faithfulness. Spend attentive time together, keep promises, and speak thanks while there is much to be thankful for. A healthy marriage deserves care before a crisis arrives. The goodness of living together peacefully is a blessing to enjoy and a responsibility worth protecting.
