The Rainy Birthday
It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Harper had planned to play outside on her birthday. Rain filled the garden, and she cried when the games were moved indoors.
Her family did not tell her she must stop feeling disappointed. They helped her build a blanket tent, and her brother brought the cake beneath it. The day was different, but love had not disappeared with the sunshine.
Lamentations speaks about God's mercy during a very sad time. God's faithfulness is not only for days that go as planned. We can tell Him when we are sad and still thank Him for His care.
Look for a kindness today, even if part of the day has been difficult.
