The Stuck Zip

Finn pulled hard on his coat zip. It caught again. He wanted to throw the coat across the room, but his sister was standing nearby.
He put the coat down and took his hands away for a moment. Then he asked Dad to help. A little piece of cloth had caught in the teeth. Once they moved it, the zip worked.
Feeling frustrated did not make Finn bad. Throwing the coat at someone would have been wrong. God's Word calls patience a kind of strength. Being strong includes choosing what your hands and mouth will do when you are upset.
Slow down before frustration becomes a hurtful action.

Proverbs compares ruling one's spirit with mighty achievement. Patience and self-control are real strength. The verse does not praise suppressing every emotion; it commends governing our response instead of being ruled by anger.
