A Place Prepared
And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

Mephibosheth came before David with reason to be afraid. He belonged to Saul's family, and David was king. Yet David spoke kindly, remembered Jonathan, and provided for him.

You do not need to turn every detail into a hidden lesson to see the value of faithful kindness. Remember your own responsibilities to others. Include someone who is easily overlooked. Let care become a practical action instead of remaining a good thought that never reaches the person who needs it.
