Plans With Open Hands

A shared calendar can make life feel more controllable than it is. We write the appointments, arrange the money, and decide when the next season should begin. Then one change moves several other things with it.

Proverbs does not condemn planning. It reminds us that our plans exist beneath the LORD's authority. We can make thoughtful preparations without acting as though God has promised to follow the schedule we prefer.

When plans change, avoid making your spouse answer for circumstances neither of you controls. Begin with the facts. Decide what needs attention now and what can wait. Disappointment deserves honest conversation, but blame does not become useful simply because the day has become difficult.

Hold one unsettled plan with humility today. Continue preparing wisely and refuse to force a door through dishonesty or pressure. God's direction will not contradict His written Word. You can trust Him while admitting that you do not yet know how the next part of the road will look.
